The thing is, he might've been joking, because if I remember correctly, the interviewer said something along the lines of, "You're Harry Freaking Potter" and he said, "And now I'm Blaine Freaking Anderson, too." So he could've just been reaching for a last name and grabbed that one. Which is why I'm waiting on it to actually be said in canon. But...anyway. That's where it came from.
